Principal Investigator Eli Borrego was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated high school from the Science Academy of South Texas in 2004. He earned a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2008, and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Texas A&M University in 2014. Eli started his adventures at RIT in the Fall of 2019 and during his free time (lol) he enjoys playing racquetball, slow cooking, and listening to podcasts. He is on a quest to taste all the Mexican resturants in Western New York.
